Welcome to the official website for Sporle with Palgrave Parish Council.
The Parish Council is made up of 7 members who all live in Sporle and represent the village on various matters. A Parish Council is the third tier of local government, the other two being Norfolk County Council and Breckland District Council. The Council meet at 7.00pm usually on the second Thursday of the month at Sporle Community Centre, excluding January and August. The public is very welcome to attend and speak on matters on the Agenda during the open forum which is part of each Parish Council meeting. Any issues which villagers would like to discuss should be directed to the clerk so they can either assist, or take to a meeting if suitable.
The Council address varying issues which affect the community and are directly responsible for including:
Street lighting
Bus shelters and seating
Some recycling bins, litter bins and dog fouling bins
Providing general maintenance around the village
Grass cutting
The Council also make comments on all planning applications as a consultee, although the District Council are the planning authority. The Council regularly discuss issues such as local roads and support local groups.
PLEASE NOTE the Pavilion, Playing field and Children’s Playground are the responsibility of the ‘Sporle Children’s Public Playing Field Charity’, Registered Charity No. 304071.
